Midway says it's reached a forbearance agreement with its bondholders that will allow it to delay $75 million in senior note buybacks until February 19.According to an SEC filing, the company is also currently negotiating with its remaining bondholders to reach a similar agreement. Midway's expensive buyback obligation went into effect when media mogul Sumner Redstone sold his controlling stake in the company on December 1.
If Midway fails to repurchase all of the bonds by February 19, it compounds a $90 million loan agreement with Redstone’s National Amusements company and increases total debt to $240 million.

Matters quickly take a turn for the worse as Ken and his team are betrayed from within their own ranks. After narrowly escaping death, Ken is left to fight the daunting battle alone while also attempting to understand the motivations behind his betrayal.
Armed with an extensive arsenal of specialized ninja weapons, tools and skills including the powerful forces of “Ninja Vision” and “Todome,” players must fight insurmountable odds, and once again bring peace and order to Tokyo.
"God of War was an influence. Devil May Cry, even Super Smash Bros., to a point," Vondrak says. "When we play [games like that], we just like the simplicity. Every character has their basic set of moves -- that's simple. People get that, and mass market gets that, so we're making sure we bring that to Wolverine." Wolvie really struts his stuff when dealing with Origins' plentiful soldiers, ping-ponging between foes, engaging enemies behind him without turning around, and dealing death with a fluidity usually reserved for fighting games. "People are going to play Wolverine and then be annoyed with how slow other action games are," says Vondrak. "We've gone back and played highly touted action games we all love, and you're in these attacks forever. And it's not just the speed -- it's the ease in which you're able to [break] out of your attacks at any time."
Despite a tough economy, the gaming industry held strong in 2008 and Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system recorded the biggest year in Xbox history, with more consoles, games and online entertainment experiences sold than any previous year. It was a year in which life-to-date unit sales of Xbox 360 systems climbed to 28 million consoles worldwide — expanding the product’s lead over Sony PlayStation 3 to more than 8 million units. The Xbox LIVE community also grew to more than 17 million active members, as online consumer spending increased 84 percent from last year. Since the launch of the Xbox 360 three years ago, more than $1 billion has been spent on Xbox LIVE. This amazing growth was fueled by the launch of the New Xbox Experience1; the broadest selection of hit games, TV shows, and movies available; and mass-market price points, starting at $199.“For Xbox, 2008 will be remembered around the world as a pivotal growth year at retail and online — even in the face of tough economic conditions,” said Don Mattrick, senior vice president of the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft. “Worldwide, a record number of players flocked to our broadest games and entertainment lineup ever, while the New Xbox Experience thrilled millions of fans by making our console even more engaging. And yet, we’ve only provided a glimpse into the new world of interactive entertainment that we’re imagining. The best of Xbox 360 is yet to come.”
As I mentioned before the break we’ve been working on a major title update for Gears of War 2. This update will address bugs and exploits as well as add some new achievements related to downloadable content. We don’t have an exact date for it but all indicators are it will go live within January. If that changes we’ll let you know. We’re fixing a whole bunch of online exploits. For example we’ve fixed the ability to wield an invisible shield, melee through some walls, gain infinite Lancer ammo and equip a shield and a two-handed weapon simultaneously plus many more.
We’re also making several small changes to improve the overall online gameplay experience. A few of the ones that might interest you are; increased penalties for quitting matches early, adding additional spawn protection against planted grenades and chainsaw attacks, and adding the ability to see the Submission flag carrier destination by using Tac/Com.
We know you folks love achievements so on the achievement side we’re adding achievement progress numbers to the War Journal, increasing the frequency of in-game Achievement progression notifications and adding some new Achievements for DLC.
This is just a very small list of some of the things that will be in the next title update but one more item which has been talked about a lot in our forums deserves a special call out...
About that shotgun...
We fixed the client side hit detection on the shotgun so that in a high-latency (i.e. “laggy”) match, the shotgun will be more reliable. We’ve also fixed another bug whereby shotgun and boomshot rounds could strike the ground when firing from the hip.
So there’s a brief status report on the next title update. At some point I expect we’ll post a more detailed list but I assure you we’re working hard to get this out the door and once it’s done we’ll start working on the next update. We’ll try to do a better job keeping you informed of our progress on future updates and we’ll try to be a little more active in the forums once this update is released.

The only way you'll be able to play Killzone 2 before the game's release will be through GameStop's exclusive pre-order campaign. No other demo for Killzone 2 will be released before the game's street date. Those that don't want to pre-order from GameStop will have to wait until after the game's release, as we've discovered from SCEA. "The demo will be available on the PSN after the game ships but only through GameStop until then."

"There's a real issue around DRM... I'd love to defeat pirates, but actually, with all this mess on Spore and Football Manager, which I haven't been able to play this year... I spent about three hours trying to go through this registration process and I really want to play it, but I've got other things to do with my life."Added Meredith: "There are actually other ways of dealing with piracy too. One is to compete price-wise. We haven't got to pay royalties to Sony or Microsoft, so we can go into territories and price compete."
Getting Inventive With LightingLeft 4 Dead's setting is a post-apocalyptic wasteland just before nightfall. As mentioned earlier, this meant constraints in terms of the light sources we could use without hurting the gameplay, fiction or aesthetics. This forced us to get creative: what lighting would you realistically see in an abandoned city overrun by zombies?

Quake Live's pace is still fast and furious, and the gameplay mechanics are exactly what the majority of FPS fans have enjoyed for nine years, now. The one deterrent that might actually prevent many Quake III players from vacating their favorite game is the lack of mod support in Quake Live. This is quite disappointing, especially since id essentially created the PC gaming mod scene. Additionally, if you have become bored with Quake III's gameplay at any point since '99, there's nothing here that will change your mind. It's great to be able to track down friends and play with or against them using a web browser, but that novelty might wear off quickly if you've grown accustomed to this generation of FPS titles.
