 Nea Uwe, colosul regizorilor începutului de mileniu 3, s-a pus la taifas cu MTV, cărora li s-a plâns că răul de Blizzard a înlăturat orice posibilitate ca drepturile filmului World of Warcraft să-i fie cedate lui:
„I got in contact with Paul Sams of Blizzard, spune Uwe, „We will not sell the movie rights, not to you… especially not to you."
Însuşi Uwe recunoaşte apoi că dat fiind succesul imens de care se bucură MMORPG-ul, un film prost ar putea ruina jocul: „Because it’s such a big online game success, maybe a bad movie would destroy that ongoing income, what the company has with it.”
Uuuuf, chiar că ni s-a luat o piatră de pe inimă! Lasă, Uwe, orientează-te, maică, şi tu către titluri de genul lui The King of Majorca*, doar alea îţi vin ca o mănuşă! *Pentru necunoscători, The King of Majorca este un joc în care scopul principal al jucătorului este acela de a reuşi e erecţie cât mai abruptă a personajului principal.
