Interesant... acum vreo trei săptămâni părea să nu aibă. La auzul că din joc vor lipsi celebrele „finishers”, caracteristice seriei, fanii jocului s-au dezlănÅ£uit împotriva producătorilor. Ed Boon, co-creatorul lui Mortal Kombat, a clarificat situaÅ£ia la Midway Day, declarînd că niciodată nu a fost vorba despre eliminarea fatalities din gameplay-ul jocului:
“There was never any statement on our part that fatalities will be gone or that finishing moves will be gone,” le spune Boon celor de la Gametap. În fine, vor exista totuÅŸi o serie de modificări, aÅŸa că nu vom vedea scene în care se taie capete:
“We did acknowledge that we won’t be able to do the same kinds of outrageous moves, like tearing someone’s head off and the spine being attached to it. But there are a lot of assumptions that there will be no blood in the game, that there are no fatalities in the game. It’s an assumption that, because the DC characters will be in there, those features will have to be dropped. My response is that, no, we’re modifying fatalities.”
AcelaÅŸi lucru e valabil ÅŸi în ceea ce priveÅŸte speculaÅ£ia că nu va exista sânge în joc, aÅŸa că, liniÅŸtiÅ£i-vă, veÅ£i vedea sângele curgînd:
“But I have every intention to keep finishers. You know, to let gamers do a really cool secret button combination and follow with a really outrageous finishing move to end the match. The names of these moves, and the level of violence we use, are to be determined. But it’s certainly not a feature we plan on eliminating from the series.” Ceea ce rămâne încă incert este nivelul de violenţă ca va fi integrat în joc. Se pare că limitările vor veni din partea DC, dată fiind includerea personajelor sale în Mortal Kombat, aÅŸa că este evidentă tendinÅ£a către dezvoltarea unui joc cu rating T (Teen) iar nu a unui joc M (Mature). Jocul va apărea pe PS3 ÅŸi Xbox360 în toamna acestui an.
